● あの名作漫画「聖☆おにいさん」が大英博物館に展示されているらしい
講談社モーニング・ツーで連載中の漫画「聖☆おにいさん」といえば、ブッダとイエスが人間界でユル～くバカンスを楽しむという奇想天外な ギャグストーリーで、「このマンガがすごい!」でも2009年オトコ編の1位に輝いた人気作品だ。そんな「聖☆おにいさん」が、なんとロンドンにある大英 博物館に展示されているという情報がネットで話題になっていた。なんでも日本を紹介する展示室に、版画や浮世絵などとともに単行本が展示されているとのこ と。漫画という日本文化を代表して選ばれたのか、それともブッダとイエスをモチーフにしたその宗教観がユニークと見なされたのかは定かではないが、プレー トでは舞台になっている東京・立川までしっかり紹介されており、内容にまで踏み込んだ筋金入りの展示だ。イギリスに足を運ぶ機会があれば日本人として見に 行っておきたいところだ。
